Moulin de Couffinhal à Couesques (groupes)
To get there: go to Couesques (D 904), park in the parking lot next to the bridge and follow the signs (short 400m walk along a shady dirt track).
This water mill, which has existed since the late 16th century, was used to produce walnut oil and flour. After contributing to the local economy for centuries, it ceased to operate in 1970.
All its original equipment remains in place, and some of it has been restored to working order.
The owner, a descendant of millers, will explain how it works. You'll see the oil millstone, driven by the power of water, and all the ancillary equipment: canal, pond, sluice gates, etc.
